Homicide Investigation on the 1300 block of Duval Street

May 30th, 2022

On Monday, May 30, 2022, at approximately 7:46 p.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Duval Street in reference to one shot.   Upon arrival, officers found 11-year-old juvenile suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.  

The victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.

This investigation is ongoing.  No additional details will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.

UPDATE:

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, Anthony Shinn, 20, the third suspect was arrested and charged with felony murder and shooting into an unoccupied vehicle (X3) in reference to the Duval case. 

He was also charged with shooting into an unoccupied vehicle (X2) and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling in reference to a shooting incident on Weinacker Avenue.  No one was reported injured in that incident.

UPDATE:

On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, Tyrik Dubose, 21, the second suspect, was arrested and charged with felony murder and shooting into an unoccupied vehicle (X3).

Update:

Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify Cameron Walker, 19,  as the suspect involved.  On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, he was arrested and charged with murder and shooting into an unoccupied vehicle (X3).
