MOBILE POLICE DEPARTMENT Boots & Badges Kids Camp
The Mobile Police Department Mounted Unit and Crime Prevention Unit are excited to host “Boots & Badges Kids Camp” for summer 2023. Kids, ages 7-12, can spend four fun-packed days with Mobile’s Mounted Unit police officers at the barn. The camp is perfect for kids who want to learn more about the role of police officers on horseback and have a love for animals.
Camp Dates: July 10 – 13, 2023
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily
Location: 1251 Virginia Street
Daily activities, mixed with both fun and education, include pony rides, petting zoo, arena games, hay rides, horse care 101, horse tack, patrol car and fire truck demonstrations and more.
Camp funds benefit the Mobile Mounted Auxiliary Unit, which was established in 1997 as a volunteer organization of civilian riders who are trained to patrol with officers as a support unit.

- Day 1 - Barn & Horse Intro, Meet the Horses, Treasure Hunt, Arts & Crafts, Pony Rides
- Day 2 - Arts & Crafts, Noodle Horse Ride, Tack, Arena Games, Pony Rides
- Day 3 - Arena Games, Pony Rides, Mounted Unit Demonstration, Lights & Sirens Police Car and Fire Truck Display, Kids meet police officers and firefighters [PHOTO DAY]
- Day 4 - Paint the Parts of the Horse, Obstacle Course Adventure, Pony Rides, Hay Ride
Camp Arrival Time: 8:30 a.m. - 8:55 a.m. | Camp begins promptly at 9 a.m.
THINGS TO BRING TO CAMP:
- Water Bottle
- Wear Boots & Badges Kids Camp T-shirt each day (provided at registration)
- Apply sunscreen before leaving home
- Best Behavior *Parents, please remind your kids each day to listen and follow instructions.
THINGS CAMP WILL PROVIDE:
- Snacks
- Lunch (Menu coming soon!) Parents are welcome to send their child a sack lunch.
- Water and Gatorade

The Boots & Badges Kids Camp cost is $206 (includes $6 processing fee). All registration fees are non-changeable and non-refundable. There are NO refunds or credits given for days absent.
