Applicants must be at least 19 years of age. There is no maximum age limit. New residents have 30 days after entering the state to obtain an Alabama Driver's License.
The Mobile Police Department usually operates two Academy Classes per year. Applicants who pass the Physical Agility/Ability Test will be provided with a Law Enforcement Officer Physical Agility/Ability Verification Form that must be attached to the online application. Effective July 1, 2017, the State of Alabama has added a Basic Ability Test as a requirement for police officer applicants.
