Homicide Investigation on the 1200 block of Rev. A.T. Days Street

On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Mobile Police officers responded to the area of Michigan Avenue, and Melrose Street in reference to shots fired complaint.  Upon arrival, police officers observed a vehicle had struck a church at the 1200 block of Rev. A.T. Days Street and discovered Samuel Bishop, age 53, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.   

This is an active homicide investigation.  We will release updates as information becomes available. If anyone has information about the case, please contact the Mobile Police Department at 251-208-7211.   

Update:
Through the course of this investigation, 28-year-old male David Hardy was identified as a suspect in this case, and warrants were obtained for his arrest. On Thursday, October 21, 2021, members of the U.S. Marshal Services and Mobile Police Department K9 Unit located David Hardy and took him into custody. Hardy was transported to Metro Jail and charged with Murder and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle.
