On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at approximately 9:33 p.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Prairie Avenue in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim deceased in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Upon further investigation, a male juvenile victim with a gunshot wound was also discovered in a second vehicle. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The name of the deceased will be released upon notification of the next of kin. This is an active investigation and no further details will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.
