The Mobile Police Department arrested a man wanted in connection to a murder that happened 15 years ago.
Jhordis Woods, 39, was arrested and charged with the 2007 murder of Shaywanna Robinson, 16. Mr. Woods was currently serving time in Florida for an unrelated case.
On Tuesday, August 7, 2007, officers responded to the 700 block of Bankhead Place in reference to a home invasion involving one shot. Upon arrival, police officers discovered a 16-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
We have a great team, and this is an example of their quality of work. The arrest, in this case, shows how the Mobile Police Department is continuing to investigate leads concerning cold cases.
