Beware of Scammers Impersonating the Mobile Police Department

Apr 25th, 2023

It has come to our attention that scammers are targeting citizens in our community again, and we want to inform you about their latest fraudulent scheme. Scammers are posing as members of the Mobile Police Department, demanding payment for an alleged outstanding warrant and threatening to arrest the victims if they do not comply with their demands.

It is important to note that this is a fraudulent scheme, and the Mobile Police Department will never contact individuals via phone, email, or any other means to demand payment for any reason. Moreover, the department does not issue arrest warrants over the phone. Therefore, if you receive a call or email from someone claiming to be associated with the Mobile Police Department and asking for money or personal information, it is imperative that you exercise caution.

We urge you to be mindful and contact your local law enforcement agency immediately if you receive such a call. Do not respond to email or phone demands; instead, hang up the phone. We want to ensure the safety of our community, and we must work together to protect ourselves from scammers and criminals.

Let us all come together to protect our community from these fraudulent schemes.
