MOBILE POLICE DEPARTMENT Dauphin Street (Circle K) Homicide Investigation

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Reginald Whitehead, 48.
On Friday, August 14, 2026, at approximately 3:47 a.m., officers responded to 3251 Dauphin Street (Circle K) in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Upon further investigation, officers discovered the victim entered the business, and while inside, physically assaulted a male security guard. The security guard shot the victim during the altercation.
The case will now be presented to a grand jury.
