The Central Precinct is located in the heart of downtown Mobile at 55 N. Water Street and is commanded by Captain Stan Ladnier. The precinct was established in 1992 and expanded March 2019 to accommodate the growth of the downtown area. Central Precinct serves as a specialized patrol precinct with specialized tactics and equipment.
Downtown Mobile is comprised of a central business district, an entertainment district, city parks and several residential areas. Events are held nearly every day throughout the year including conventions, concerts, art shows, markets and, of course, the largest celebration in Mobile – Mardi Gras.
With the expanded precinct, businesses and residents have community policing from officers on horseback, bike, foot and Segway patrols.
In 2020, officers responded to 10,324 calls for service.
I am a native of Bayou La Batre and a graduate of Peter F Alba High School. I joined the Mobile Police Department in 2003 and spent the first 7 years assigned to Patrol Services. In 2010, I transferred to Criminal Investigations where I worked as a robbery investigator. I was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2011 and then promoted to Sergeant in 2013. Upon my promotion to Sergeant, I was transferred to the Narcotics/Vice Detail where I served until 2016. In 2016, I became the Homicide Detail supervisor. In 2017, I was promoted to Lieutenant. During my time as a Lieutenant I worked in Narcotics/Vice, Patrol Services, and Criminal Investigations.
I have received several awards throughout my career, including multiple Chief’s Unit awards, a Chief’s Commendation, an Excellent Police Duty award as well as a Combat Cross. I hold an Associates of Applied Science in Criminal Justice. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling the southeast watching my daughters play softball.
