On Sunday, January 28, 2024, at approximately 5:13 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Chin Street in response to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered 44-year-old Khaliaka Meardry, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The preliminary investigation revealed that Ms. Meardry was engaged in a verbal dispute with three women. The altercation escalated when the woman physically assaulted Ms. Meardry with a blunt object. Subsequently, one of the subjects shot Ms. Meardry.
The subjects, identified as Sierra Giles (37), Kendra Nettles (32), and Terrilyn Williams (35), have been arrested and are charged with murder.
This is an active homicide investigation, and no further details will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.
