Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation

On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers were attempting a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 4600 block of Schimpfs Lane. The male driver of the vehicle was wanted for active felony warrants for a SORNA violation and probation revocation in reference to displaying obscene matter to a minor, along with being wanted for other recent violent crimes.

During the traffic stop, the subject exited the vehicle and produced a firearm. Both the subject and at least two officers fired shots. The subject ultimately took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The name of the deceased subject will not be released at this time.

This remains an active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
