Victim shot during vehicle burglary has died

The victim of Thursday’s shooting on the 2100 block of Spring Grove West has died. Mobile Police confirm that this shooting occurred when the victim was interrupting a vehicle burglary.

On Thursday, June 6, 2019 at approximately 5:55 a.m., police responded to the location in reference to a male victim found suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 31-year-old Samuel Wilson III, was transported to the hospital with possible life-threatening injuries. Wilson died as a result of his injuries on Friday, June 7, 2019.

To help find the suspect responsible for killing Wilson, police ask neighbors and those living in adjacent neighborhoods to please check their surveillance systems. Report to police anything captured during the time frame of the vehicle burglary that might be helpful in solving this crime by calling 251-208-7211. 

Update 6/26/19: Seth Bowick, 24, was found connected to the crime and was arrested Wednesday, June 26, 2019. Bowick has been charged with murder and three counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
