On Thursday, January 30, 2019 at approximately 8:25 a.m., police responded to the Red Roof Inn located at 1 East I-65 Service Road in reference to the report of one shot. Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate the victim. A short time later, officers received a call that a 2-year-old male child had just arrived at the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. The child later died as result of his injury. The child has been identified as Corey Davis.
Police arrested 29-year-old Dynesha Harris. Harris is charged with manslaughter. Tony Fowler, 25, was also arrested and charged with manslaughter. Fowler faces an additional charge of possession of marijuana first degree. He had four outstanding arrest warrants.
