Safety Checkpoints Results

Dec 23rd, 2021

The Mobile Police Department has announced the results of the safety checkpoints that were recently conducted in the four precinct areas. On December 22, 2021, from 5 p.m. to midnight, the safety checkpoints were conducted at Halls Mill Road and McVay Drive, Highway 90 at Old Pascagoula Road, St. Stephens Road at Pleasant Avenue and Cody Road at Airport Boulevard.

Compared to the 667 vehicles stopped, there were 28 traffic citations written. Only one arrest was made and that charge was no pistol permit.

“We were not looking to overburden the community with citations,” Police Chief Prine said. “Rather we want the community to know that we are out there protecting citizens through our concerted show of force.”
