On Thursday, April 23, 2026, at approximately 4:49 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Roys Lane, in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Through the course of the investigation, Detectives determined a verbal argument ensued with a known male who pulled out a handgun and fatally shot the victim.
John Howell, 46, was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.
The deceased victim has been identified as Jacob Griffith, 51..
