POLICE ARREST A SUSPECT FOR MULTIPLE COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES

On August 19, 2009 at approximately 9:11 AM police responded to a commercial robbery at the Chevron Station on Theodore Dawes Road at I-10. Officers were able to obtain a good description on the scene of the suspect and notified other officers patrolling the area. A patrol officer located the suspect's vehicle at a residence on Hunter Street in Theodore and apprehended 42 year old Jeffery Paul Jones.

Robbery detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. Investigators interviewed Jones, and he admitted to four additional robberies. These robberies include: the Package store at Highway 90 and Padgett Switch Road, Chevron at Highway 90 and I-10, Shell Station at Highway 90 and I-10, and the Citgo Station on Swede town Road and Nan Gray Davis.

Jeffrey Paul Jones has been charged with five counts of Robbery First Degree. The investigation will continue and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
