MPD Conducts Operation Camp Fire

The Mobile Police Department conducted a three-month operation into illegal drug activity in the Campground Community in December 2024, arresting 25 individuals. Six months later, we received additional complaints from citizens related to illegal activities continuing in the area.

An orchestrated plan was put in place for a quick response in the following areas:

 

Center St./Springhill Ave.

Cuba St./Congress St.

Springhill Ave./Ann St.

Gaston St./Adams St.

Springhill Ave./Kennedy St.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave./Ann St.

Terrill St./Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave.

 

During the investigation, which concluded on September 17, 2025, the Narcotics and Vice Unit arrested 45 individuals. A total of 17 search warrants were executed with the assistance of SWAT and K9 Units.

Notable Arrest- The Mobile Police Department conducted an operation at a gas station (First Stop) located at 1275 Springhill Avenue and arrested Cameron Cleveland (109 grams of Marijuana, 3oz Promethazine). This individual was selling while working at the establishment.

Notable Arrest- The Mobile Police Department conducted an operation at two homes located in the 300 block of Gaston Street. These houses were being used for gambling, cooking cocaine into crack, selling illegal drugs and used as a hide out for fleeing felons. Several individuals were arrested at these locations and charged accordingly.
