On June 9, 2021, at 2:25 pm, Mobile Police Department responded to the South of Dauphin Apartments for a report of a male down. Upon arrival, officers found 21-year-old Laquintae Carroll inside of his apartment with apparent gunshot wound. Carroll was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives responded to begin their investigation, and more information can be released as it becomes available. If anyone has information about this incident, please call the Mobile Police Department at 208-7211.
UPDATE: On June 10, 2021, Deonte Hughes, 25, turned himself in at police headquarters. Hughes was charged with murder.
