On Saturday, July 22, 2017 at approximately 7:30 a.m., the Mobile Police Department and Mobile Fire Department responded to the Plantation Apartments located at 5725 Old Pascagoula Road in reference to a residential fire. Upon arrival a male victim was found inside of the apartment. The victim was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Investigators were able to detain 45-year-old Howard Willard. Willard was later arrested and charged with Murder and Arson 1st Degree.
