Death Investigation on the 2000 block of Osage Street

On Sunday, August 7, 2022, at approximately 7:38 a.m., officers along with Mobile Fire-Rescue responded to the 2000 block of Osage Street in reference to a 33-year-old female suffering from severe burns and multiple gunshot wounds.  The female was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died due to her injuries.  

Also, at that location was a vehicle engulfed in flames.  Once Mobile Fire-Rescue personnel extinguished the fire, they observed a 48-year-old male inside deceased. 

This investigation is ongoing.  The names of the deceased will be released pending notification of next of kin.   Additional details will be released as they become available.

Update:

The deceased victims' names are Laquisha Towner, 33, of McIntosh, Alabama, and Derrick Rembert, 48, of Mobile, Alabama.
