Deadly Shooting Investigation near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Boulevard

On Sunday, November 28, 2021, at approximately 4:04 p.m., police officers responded to University Hospital in reference to two females arriving by POV suffering from gunshot wounds. Upon arrival, they discovered two female victims were driving near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Cemetery Lane when an unknown vehicle began firing shots into their vehicle.     

Miss Canyra Osborne, 20, one of the victims, later died as a result of her injuries.   

The second female victim, age 21, was treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

Update:

Through the course of the investigation, 22-year-old male Jesse T. Dixon, Jr. was identified as a suspect in this case, and warrants were obtained for his arrest. On Friday, December 3, 2021, Dixon was transported to Metro Jail and charged with Murder, Attempt Murder, and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle.
