Arrest Made in the Dexter Street Homicide

On Sunday, October 7, 2018 at approximately 8:13 a.m., police responded to the 1600 block of Dexter Avenue in reference to one shot. Upon arrival, police discovered 23-year-old Deontae Davis suffering from a gunshot wound. Davis was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. The investigation is ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.

Update 10/11/18: Through the course of the investigation, Michael Montgomery, 19, was identified as the suspect involved in the murder of Davis. On Thursday, October 11, 2018 at approximately 12:23 a.m., police arrested Montgomery in Prichard, AL.
