man arrested on sexual abuse charges

The Mobile Police Department made a significant arrest on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, following an extensive investigation into sexual abuse charges involving a minor.

In March 2025, officers responded to the 5600 block of Mardanne Drive to begin their investigation. Through the course of the investigation, officers discovered a male subject sexually abused a known female victim for years.

Through investigative efforts, the subject, identified as Robert Smith, 39, was located and arrested on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Charges include Rape 1st (x3), Sodomy 1st (x3), Sexual Abuse 1st (x2), Incest.

Due to the sensitive nature of this case, no further information will be released.
