On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at approximately 11:44 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of East Rue Maison in reference to one shot. Upon arrival, police officers located a 32-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside the apartment; the victim was transported to the hospital and later succumbed to his injury.
This investigation is ongoing. The deceased's name will be released pending notification of the next of kin.

During the investigation, Tyquan Pettaway-Thomas, 20, was identified as the subject involved in the murder of Jabarie Thomas, 32. On Monday, March 6, 2023, Tyquan Pettaway-Thomas, 20, was arrested and charged with murder and two counts of robbery.
