On July 20, 2021, at approximately 4:18 p.m., Mobile Police officers responded to the 1700 block of Sumner Drive in reference to one down. Upon arrival, police officers discovered an unidentified black male deceased. It appears the victim has been shot; however, this is an ongoing homicide investigation.

The Mobile Police Department reports the victim of a recent homicide has been identified. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in the 1700 block of Sumner Driver.
The victim has been identified as Jalon Gallery, 17, of Mobile, Alabama.
