Holiday Season Reminder: Downtown Curfew Enforcement by Mobile Police Department

Dec 22nd, 2023

As we find ourselves in the midst of the holiday season, with Christmas just around the corner, we acknowledge the eager anticipation of families and young individuals looking forward to enjoying their free time.  However, during this festive period, it is crucial to emphasize the significance of adhering to curfew regulations, especially for minors under 18 in the Downtown Entertainment District.

We urge the cooperation and understanding of our community members as our officers diligently enforce the curfew, effective from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following day.  This commitment stems from our responsibility to prioritize the safety and well-being of our young residents.  Thorough ID checks will be conducted by our dedicated police personnel to ensure full compliance with these regulations.

The Mobile Police Department will rigorously enforce Article XIII - Sec. 39-261, specifically addressing the curfew ordinance in the "Downtown Entertainment District." Stringent measures will be in place to guarantee compliance with the curfew regulations.  We encourage parents and legal guardians to actively accompany minors after curfew hours, ensuring their safety and adherence to these rules.

We stand unwavering in our commitment to creating a safe and orderly environment for Mobile's residents, visitors, and participants.  By upholding these curfew regulations, we can collectively foster an atmosphere where everyone can enjoy a memorable and secure holiday season. Together, let's make this season joyful and safe for all.
