AVENUE C HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

UPDATE: John Myers, 50, was arrested on Friday, August 14, 2026, and transported to Metro Jail, charged with Murder and Attempted Murder in reference to last week's homicide/shooting on Avenue C near Harding Boulevard.

UPDATE: The deceased victim has been identified as Robert Baehr, 57.

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, shortly after 9:00 a.m., officers responded to the area of Harding Boulevard and Avenue C In reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim deceased with a fatal gunshot injury.

A second male victim was discovered with a gunshot injury and transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

No further information will be released at this time as this remains an active investigation. Once additional information is available, we’ll pass it on.
