Civilian Ride-Along Program

The Mobile Police Department encourages anyone who is interested in law enforcement to participate in the Civilian Ride-Along Program with department personnel. This includes, but is not limited to, college interns, students in sponsored programs of study, officers from other agencies, media personnel and individuals who can exhibit a valid connection with or interest in a law enforcement activity.

Those interested in a ride along should contact the precinct of interest to obtain a Ride-Along Release Form or click here to download the form. Completed forms must be given to the secretary at the precinct of choice so that a background check can be conducted. Permission from the precinct commander must also be granted.

Civilian ride alongs are NOT allowed to carry any type of firearm or weapon, regardless of any permit.
