Victims of Crime Awareness Walk

Apr 23rd, 2021

The MPD Victim Services Unit is hosting a “Victims of Crime Awareness Walk” in observance of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (April 18-24). The walk takes place Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. It starts in the rear parking lot of police headquarters, 2460 Government Blvd., and ends at Public Safety Memorial Park, 2301 Airport Blvd.

The event is organized to raise awareness about victims’ rights, protections and services. The theme is “Support Victims. Build Trust. Engage Communities.”

Victims of crime and their families are invited to join the walk as well as members of the community who play a role in assisting crime victims. Several police officers are participating.

The MPD Victim Services Unit was established a year ago within the police department to provide victims with the support they need to recover. To learn more, visit mobilepd.org/victim
