Celebrate National Night Out

Neighborhoods across the city of Mobile are invited to National Night Out 2016. The celebration kicks off at The Shoppes at Bel Air and Bienville Square on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign with the goal of making neighborhoods safer, better places to live. MPD Community Services has organized the event to bring police and community together.

At The Shoppes at Bel Air from 5:30 to 9 p.m., there will be safety demonstrations, informational booths, music and games, a platform for youth talent, door prizes, and a fashion show by Belk with Mobile Police modeling the latest styles.

In Bienville Square, a National Night Out 5K Run will take place at 6:30 p.m. Registration for the run begins at 4:30 p.m.

Sponsors of the event include the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), ADT, Nextdoor, Associa, Funflicks, Ring, and the Mobile Police Department.
