FAMILY INTERVENTION TEAM
"Committed to providing services for youth and families to live healthy, safe, and productive lives"
The Family Intervention Team (FIT), along with community leaders and the judicial system is dedicated to providing assistance to juveniles and families through prevention and intervention services. We are committed to improving "the quality of life" for families throughout the City of Mobile.
The Family Intervention Team includes specialists who have experience in social work, counseling, education, and law enforcement. Specialists provide counseling and referral services to youths and their families. Our team accepts referrals for youth who need guidance with family, behavioral, low-self esteem, peer pressure, and academic issues. The eight-member team has specialists located at 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and Roger Williams precincts. A future office will be established at the 5th precinct once the facility is completed.
The Family Intervention Team prides itself in providing support to the following groups:
Youth — assist juveniles in setting goals, teaching life skills, conflict resolution, counseling, and mentoring.
Families — provide treatment and referrals to the entire family, and offer classes that teach effective and efficient skills in parenting.
Schools — assist with providing valuable resources to school officials with juveniles who have disciplinary and academic problems by providing.
Communities — work with community leaders, local officials, and churches initiatives to prevent delinquency, and promote strong family values within our communities.
By remaining involved in the lives of youths and their families, the Family Intervention Teams strives to provide services that will prevent at-risk behavior among juveniles and strengthen family relationships.
